About the journal

The Nature Conservation Journal was established in 1946. The journal deals with nature conservation and landscape protection in a broader context. It targets State Nature Conservancy staff, academia, researchers, teachers, non-governmental organisation members as well as anybody who is interested in nature.

The journal presents articles and news on landscape protection and management, protected area networks, wild species protection and management and nature conservation legislation issues. The periodical also shows outputs of monitoring nature and of research on it and it provides reader with information on implementation of multilateral environmental agreements and on the EU Natura 2000 network, on international nature conservation respectively. Since 2015, in addition to standard volume, it includes an insert to each issue, allowing to present short news, book reviews and remarkable nature conservationist profiles.

Since 2007, the journal has been issued six times in a year, always in the middle of each even-numbered month.

The journal is issued by the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic which has been continuing the efforts of its predecessors, now in co-operation with the Cave Administration of The Czech Republic. In 2015, both the publishers were joined by administrations of all national parks in the Czech Republic.
